The Benefits of Blue Lotus Incense |
|
There are quite a few benefits to both the burning of all-natural incense and the inhalation of various essential oils, from reducing stress and aiding sleep, to increased productivity and even a strengthened immune system. The following benefits are only true for 100% natural incense. Unfortunately, few people every truly get to experience this, with the vast majority of lotus products made with synthetic scents. For a more extensive list of all-natural incense benefits, have a look out our page on the benefits of burning natural incense.
01 - Being in the same environment as incense has been linked to heightened creativity. The basis for this is similar to listening to music - providing inspiration and motivation. Aromas are also a very powerful emotional memory trigger which can help to stimulate thoughts and creativeness (Collins, 2012). Blue lotus and agarwood are particularly effective scents, due to their distinctive and psychoactive nature.
02 - The deeply soothing properties of some scents give the added benefit of sedative properties, helping to induce sleep for those who suffer from insomnia. Furthermore, it additionally reduces the impact of the association between stress and insomnia (Linton, 2004). Blue lotus, patchouli and lavender all have a sedative nature.
03 - Despite its calming effect, blue lotus incense can also be used as an aphrodisiac. This is because the area of the brain that it effects, the hypothalamus, controls the creation and release of hormones that regulate everything from sleep, appetite and mood to libido. When burned to help set the mood for a romantic evening, the release of the hormone testosterone is stimulated. With lower levels of testosterone linked to lower libidos, a little spike in your production can make all the difference to some people. It also increases blood flow to the sexual organs. Lotus, jasmine and vanilla are the most common aphrodisiacs, although warm and musky scents have also been found to work well for women.

Our Natural Blue Lotus Incense |
|
Our incense is 100% natural and hand rolled in small batches using only the finest organic ingredients. We don't use machines, just very traditional methods and tools.
We gather our base ingredients, which are made up primarily of pure charcoal, sandalwood powder and vanilla, along with various resins, and we grind them all up together. When the mixture is the right consistency, we carefully pour in the pure lotus oil and hand knead it in. Then we take our bamboo sticks and gently roll the mixture around them, finishing off the batch with a gentle dusting of an organic dye for a little colour. Our blue lotus is available in our classic and absolute ranges, as well as in the exotic flowers selection pack. |
